FURNITURE PAINTING

Location: UK wide

Our furniture painter partners really love doing what they do and they are ready to get started on your project.

Kielley uses environmentally friendly paints. Creative and self-taught, Kielley stepped into furniture upcycling by chance. In the market for a new dressing table for a little nook for the bedroom, she knew she did not want a generic boring piece of furniture. Because of this, Kielley decided to find a dresser with features that she loved and gave it a makeover herself. From then, she became hooked.

My favourite furniture to transform are dressing tables. Usually, I can go with more of a statement piece rather than trying to just fit in with someone’s current décor.”

“I love seeing the transformations of these old, wonderful pieces of furniture that most people think are ready for landfill. They have fantastic bones and just need to be given a little TLC. And they have so much more character than modern furniture.”

After: Professionally painted in black and white, finished with ‘inked’ transfers and new handles

Before: The old dresser in desperate need of a makeover

Evelyn has been upcycling and painting furniture for 12 months. Immersed in furniture upcycling, Evelyn is self taught and recently attended a local sign writer course to gain transferable skills. And here, she was taught freehand lettering, gold leafing and masking to create different effects. Working on vintage furniture through to dull reproduction furniture, Evelyn loves turning furniture into unique art deco-themed and eye catching statement pieces.

WOODWORK

Locations: UK wide

Furniture upcycler/ woodworker, Archie enjoyed design technology at school from year 7 all the way through to sixth form, where he learned different wood working techniques. In addition to this, all of his other upcycling skills are self-taught.

Archie’s favourite pieces to work with are unique drawer sets.

“I really like designing them to have painted bodies which feature waxed wooden fronts. And I also like the idea of old out-dated furniture getting a new lease of life and being completely unique and bespoke to the person who upcycled it.”
